Use a firm sleep surface, such as a mattress in a safety-approved* crib, covered by a fitted sheet.
Ensure that there are no coverings over the baby’s head.
Avoid placing pillows, blankets, sheepskins, or crib bumpers in your baby’s sleeping space.
Your baby should always be placed on their back to sleep, whether it’s for naps or at night.
Keep soft objects, toys, and loose bedding away from where your baby sleeps.
Ensure your baby is dressed in lightweight sleep attire, such as a one-piece sleeper, and avoid using a blanket.
You don’t smoke in front of your child and don’t let anyone else
Infants should not sleep in an adult bed, on a couch, or on a chair unsupervised, with you, or with anyone else.
